Developmental Editing
Now that you have really found the flow of your storyline, you now need a deeper look on big picture elements of your manuscript. I check for accuracy, consistency, plot holes, and quality of the storyline, structure, and characters to keep readers engaged.
Service includes a full report outlining all of my recommendations, as well as any comments I make throughout your manuscript.
*Now includes Trope Assessment and Favorite Quotes section
Service does NOT include high level analytics or in-depth in-line feedback (does have comments but most are in report). I do not do a brainstorming call but will brainstorm via voice notes/texts.

The Marquette Package
In this Package, I will perform one round of Copy Edits, will then return to the author for revisions, and then will perform one round of proofreading. As your editor, I would be extremely thorough in examining and correcting the following elements in your work:
Word usage and repetition, POV/tense, Descriptive inconsistencies, Spelling, Grammar, Capitalization, and Punctuation.
1 round copy, sent back to author for revisions, 1 round proof.

Turnaround time depends on size of manuscript and is longer with this package due to revisions.

The Charlevoix Package: Combined Editing Bundle
In this Package, I will combine both Copy Editing and Proofreading at the same time. As your editor, I would be extremely thorough in examining and correcting the following elements in your work:
Word usage and repetition, POV/tense, Descriptive inconsistencies, Spelling, Grammar, Capitalization, and Punctuation.
2 passes, copy and proof performed at same time, sent to author for revisions after edits are completed.

Copy Editing
In Copy Editing, I will check for errors in a more granular level. As your editor, I would be extremely thorough in examining and correcting the following elements in your work:
Grammar, Capitalization, Word usage and repetition, POV/tense, Descriptive inconsistencies (character descriptions, locations, blocking, etc.)

Proofreading
The Final Stage of the editing process before you publish. As your proofreader, I would meticulously check to make sure there are no obvious errors such as spelling, grammar, typos, etc.

Formatting
Formatting will be done via Vellum. I can do the interior format for e-book and/or paperback. This will focus on chapter headings, design elements, and more (and will be done to your preference for detail & design). Turn-around time is 1-3 weeks (we will discuss what you need timeline wise when booking). *Please ensure all edits are complete prior to the formatting stage.

Sample Edit
Sample Edit is offered if authors are interested. For Copy Edit or Proofread Sample I will read through 1500-2000 words from your manuscript and provide you with feedback. For Developmental Edit Sample I request 2-3 chapters. This will give us both a chance to see if we can work together.

Of course! I ask for a 1,500-2,000 word sample for copy edits, proofreads, or combined edits. I ask for 2-3 chapters to perform a sample developmental edit.

It depends on the word count, size of book, and type of editing. Example word counts with turnaround below:
10-40k: 2 weeks
40k-100k: 2-3 weeks
100k-135k: 3-4 weeks
135k+: 4+ weeks
Turnaround is much longer if the Marquette Package is chosen due to revisions being completed in the middle by the author.

Yes, I can. We can discuss and develop a specific payment plan that works best for you if needed.

Yes, but do charge a fee depending on the scope of work. Normally about 15-30% of original service price. This also depends on other manuscripts I already have. If it will impact my work for others then I will not add on a Rush Job.
